If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms needed. He decided to create his own online learning platform with characteristics that he envisioned his classes and students would like.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for about $250M.

Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As mentioned previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Going around and operating the course will be found easy by tech beginners.

When you register on the website, it leads you to the dashboard. There you will see headers like users, websites, sales, emails, and classes. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

You can incorporate as many tools as you want as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You will also find that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

It has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need while trying to analyze your path sales. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.

For greater plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can provide your students discounts should they decide to obtain a second course. It’s a fantastic way of increasing conversions.

When it comes to student monitoring, you can check student enrollment and engagement. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.

You do not need to worry about monitoring sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with technology and marketing for you.

Completion Certificates

To get this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Now that I’ve talked about what I liked about Teachable, here are a few things I don’t like:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable does not have a totally free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There’s no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you try it?

I’m not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. Comparable to a duck testing the waters , It does take some time to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach how you want to learn by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Big Commerce Teachable Integrtation

You don’t need to think about marketing. All you’ve got to worry about is making the content that you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.

You may make your online course on any topic you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a business. Why not start now?
