If you are an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into earnings, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms had. So, he decided to create his own online learning platform with features he envisioned his courses and students could enjoy.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

In A Nutshell Bond Teachable Perk

Teachable allows one to create and sell online classes and training with videos, quizzes, and lectures. It’s a simple and intuitive interface that makes it an excellent platform for complete beginners. You don’t have to have a virtual assistant or team member to perform it because it already takes care of your sales monitoring, payment collections, and affiliates commissions. Instead, you can focus more on course building.

Who Uses Teachable?

We can’t deny that online learning is a quick and booming industry. And we would like to take a slice out of the ever-growing demand.

Entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who wish to create online courses into a potentially lucrative business will find using Teachables to be very ideal. Teachable is used by individuals like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income to sell their courses to students.

You also have enterprises such as The New York Times, Shopify, and Penn Law.

More than 100,000 founders sold over $1 billion in classes and training for students all over the world as of now.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

When you register on the website, it leads you to the dashboard. There you will see headers like users, sites, sales, emails, and classes. It is pretty straightforward. Uploading documents, reviewing analytics, issuing refunds, and communicating with students becomes easier for the user.

Customization

You can integrate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You’ll also find that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

Teachable offers a large selection of themes for your online course website which you can select to create an appealing landing page. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

If you are an advanced user, you have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets region.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

It has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need while trying to analyze your course sales. You can see how well your courses have performed in specific periods.

For higher plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can provide your pupils discounts should they decide to obtain another course. It’s a fantastic way of increasing conversions.

When it comes to student monitoring, you can check student registration and engagement. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.

Teachable deals with technology and promotion for you so you do not need to worry about monitoring sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.

Completion Certificates

You would need a Pro or Business Plan to access this feature. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change elements of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

You do not need to find a 3rd party for payment processing as Teachable comes with its in-built payment processing via Teachable Payments.

You can select your payment money from a wide range of choices. You may also create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will handle affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

You have the option of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription which your students can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Customer Support

The support is responsive. It has an extensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you might ask as you begin creating your first class. But, if you have any additional questions, you can create a ticket. Normally, you’ll hear back from service within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat service.

What Plans can I avail?

Now that I have talked about what I liked about Teachable, here are some things I do not like:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable does not have a free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There’s no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you attempt it?

I’m not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being very confused about the crowd. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take a while to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters .

You can teach the way you would like to know by using customization tools to personalize your content. Bond Teachable Perk

You don’t need to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors. So all you’ve got to worry about is creating the content that you want to sell.

To Sum It Up

For complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to concentrate more on course production than the business’s technology and marketing aspect, Teachable is an approachable platform.

Teachable helps you turn the online courses you may make on any subject you love into a business. Why not start today?
