Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with features that he envisioned his courses and students could like after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for approximately $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

When you register on the website, it leads you to the dashboard. There you may see headers such as users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

It is possible to incorporate as many tools as you want as Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive. You’ll also realize that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Teachable offers a large selection of themes for your online course website that you can select to create an attractive landing page. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region if you’re an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

It has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need while trying to analyze your course sales. You can see how well your courses have performed in specific phases.

You can provide your pupils discounts should they choose to buy another course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages from availing higher plans. It is a fantastic way of increasing conversions.

You can check student enrollment and engagement in regards to student tracking. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.

You don’t need to worry about tracking sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you.

Completion Certificates

You’d need a Pro or Business Plan to access this feature. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the program. You may change aspects of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing through Teachable Payments. With this, you do not have to get a 3rd party for payment processing.

You may choose your payment money from a wide assortment of choices. You may also generate coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will handle affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

Your pupils can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You also have the choice of charging your courses as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription.

Customer Support

The service is responsive. It has a comprehensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you begin creating your first course. You can create a ticket if you have any additional questions. Usually, you will hear back from service within 24 hours. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat service.

  • 5% transaction fees
  • There is a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.

Why should you try it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being very confused about the bunch. However, with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. Akin to a duck testing the waters first, It does take some time to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach the way you want to know by using customization tools to personalize your content. C And S Design Teachable

You don’t need to worry about marketing. All you have to worry about is making the content you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors.
