If you are an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into earnings, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his own online learning platform with characteristics that he envisioned his courses and students could like after getting frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms had.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for approximately $250M.

Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As mentioned earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you will see headers like users, websites, sales, emails, and classes. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive making it possible to integrate as many tools as you want. You’ll also realize that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

Teachable offers a large choice of topics for your online course site which you can select to create an attractive landing page. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region if you’re an advanced user.

It has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need while trying to analyze your path sales. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.

Completion Certificates

To get this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change aspects of your certificate like logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. Now that I have talked about what I liked about Teachable, here are some things I don’t like:

  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There is a 5% transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There’s no phone number to contact for queries.

Why should you attempt it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. Akin to a duck testing the waters first, It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach the way you would like to know by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Dev Teachable Agents Org

You don’t need to worry about marketing. All you’ve got to worry about is creating the content you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to take care of taxes, payouts, affiliates, and writers.

To Sum It Up
