If you are an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into income, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his courses and students would like after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for approximately $250M.

We can not deny that we would like to take a slice out of the ever-growing demand from the fast and booming industry of online learning.

It’s excellent for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners that wish to create online courses to a potentially lucrative business. Individuals like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income utilize Teachable to sell their courses to students.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Going around and operating the course will be found easy by tech beginners.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the website. There you will see headers such as users, sites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. Uploading files, reviewing analytics, issuing refunds, and communicating with students becomes easier for the user.

Customization

It is possible to incorporate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive. You will also find that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Teachable offers a large choice of themes for your online course site that you can select to create an attractive landing page. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region if you are an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you’re attempting to analyze your path sales, Teachables has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific periods.

You can provide your pupils discounts should they decide to buy a second course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles from availing higher plans. It is a fantastic means of increasing conversions.

You can check student enrollment and engagement when it comes to student monitoring. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.

You don’t need to worry about tracking sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you.

Completion Certificates

To get this feature, you would need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its in-built payment processing via Teachable Payments. With this, you don’t have to find a 3rd party for payment processing.

You may choose your payment currency from a broad assortment of choices. You can also create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

Your pupils can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You also have the option of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription.

But, if you have any additional queries, you can create a ticket. Usually, you’ll hear back from support within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat support.

Here are some things I do not like about Teachable now that I’ve talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There is a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There’s no phone number to contact for inquiries.

Why should you attempt it?

I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. However, with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. Comparable to a duck testing the waters , It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach how you want to know by using customization tools to personalize your content. Google Ads On Teachable

You don’t need to worry about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to look after taxes, payouts, affiliates, and writers. So all you have to worry about is creating the content you wish to sell.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.

Teachable helps you turn the online courses you may make on any topic you love into a company. Why not start now?
