Happy Ever Crafter Teachable

teachable-review

Teachable is the platform for you if you are an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed. He decided to create his own online learning platform with features that he envisioned his courses and students would like.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for approximately $250M.

Who Uses Teachable?

We can’t deny that we would like to take a slice out of the ever-growing demand from the quick and booming industry of online learning.

It’s excellent for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who want to create online courses into a potentially lucrative business. Folks like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income utilize Teachable to market their courses to students.

You also have enterprises like The New York Times, Shopify, and Penn Law.

As of this moment, more than 100,000 founders sold over $1 billion in classes and training for students all around the world.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As mentioned earlier, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the course.

When you register on the site, it leads you to the dashboard. There you will see headers such as users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

You can integrate as many tools as you want as Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive. You will also realize that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Teachable offers a large selection of topics for your online course site that you can select to create an attractive landing page. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region if you’re an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

It has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need while trying to analyze your course sales. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.

You can offer your students discounts should they choose to buy a second course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages from availing higher plans. It’s a good way of increasing conversions.

When it comes to student tracking, you can check student registration and engagement. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.

You don’t need to worry about monitoring sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with tech and promotion for you.

Completion Certificates

You’d need a Pro or Business Plan to access this feature. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change aspects of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

You do not need to get a 3rd party for payment processing as Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing via Teachable Payments.

You can select your payment money from a broad assortment of choices. You may even create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

You have the option of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription which your students can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Customer Support

The support is responsive. It has an extensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you start creating your first class. But, if you have any additional queries, you can create a ticket. Usually, you’ll hear back from support within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat support.

Here are some things I don’t like about Teachable now that I’ve talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There is no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you try it?

I’m not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it fairly simple. It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters .

You can teach the way you would like to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Happy Ever Crafter Teachable

You don’t have to think about marketing. All you have to worry about is making the content that you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after taxes, payouts, affiliates, and writers.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course production than the business’s technology and marketing aspect.

You may make your online course on any topic you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a company. Why not start now?
