Teachable is the platform for you if you are an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into income.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had. He decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics that he envisioned his classes and students would like.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for approximately $250M.

We can’t deny that we want to take a slice from the ever-growing demand from the quick and booming industry of online learning.

It’s excellent for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who want to make online courses into a potentially profitable business. Folks like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income utilize Teachable to sell their courses to students.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Tech beginners will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the website. There you may see headers like users, sites, sales, emails, and classes. It’s pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you want. You’ll also realize that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

Users can select to create an appealing landing page with Teachable’s large selection of topics for your online course site. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region if you’re an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you are trying to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.

For higher plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can offer your pupils discounts should they choose to buy another course. It’s a fantastic means of increasing conversions.

You can check student registration and engagement in regards to student monitoring. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.

You don’t need to worry about tracking sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you.

Completion Certificates

To access this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the course. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its in-built payment processing through Teachable Payments. With this, you don’t have to find a 3rd party for payment processing.

You can choose your payment money from a wide assortment of choices. You can also generate coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

Your students can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You also have the option of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription.

Customer Support

The service is responsive. It has an extensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you might ask as you begin creating your first course. Butif you have any additional queries, you can create a ticket. Usually, you will hear back from support within 24 hours. Professional Teachable clients have access to live chat support.

Here are some things I do not like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable does not have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There is a 5 percent transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There is no phone number to contact for queries.

Why should you attempt it?

I’m not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being very confused about the crowd. However, with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. Comparable to a duck testing the waters , It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach how you would like to learn by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Justin Teachable

You don’t need to worry about marketing. All you’ve got to worry about is creating the content that you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after taxes, payouts, affiliates, and authors.

To Sum It Up

For complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to concentrate more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect, Teachable is an approachable platform.

You may make your online course on any subject you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a company. Why not start today?
