Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into income.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his courses and students could like after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech beginners will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the website. There you will see headers such as users, sites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. Uploading files, reviewing analytics, issuing refunds, and communication with students becomes a lot easier for the user.

Customization

It is possible to incorporate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You will also find that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Teachable offers a large selection of topics for your online course website that you can select to make an appealing landing page. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets Area if you are an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you are attempting to analyze your path sales, Teachables has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need. You can see how well your courses have performed in specific periods.

You can provide your students discounts should they choose to buy a second course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages from availing greater plans. It is a good means of increasing conversions.

You can check student enrollment and engagement in regards to student tracking. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.

You do not need to worry about monitoring sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you.

Completion Certificates

To access this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing via Teachable Payments. With this, you don’t need to get a 3rd party for payment processing.

You may choose your payment money from a wide range of choices. You may even create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

Here are a few things I don’t like about Teachable now that I’ve talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5% transaction fees
  • There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There’s no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you try it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being very confused about the crowd. But with Teachable, I found it fairly simple. Akin to a duck testing the waters , It does take a while to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach the way you want to learn by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Nimhsp Teachable

You don’t have to worry about marketing. All you have to worry about is making the content you want to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to concentrate more on course creation than the business’s technology and marketing aspect.
