teachable-review

Teachable is the platform for you if you are an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his own online learning platform with features he envisioned his courses and students could like after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for approximately $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the website. There you may see headers such as users, sites, sales, emails, and classes. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

It is possible to incorporate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive. You’ll also realize that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

Users can select to create an appealing landing page with Teachable’s large choice of themes for your online course site. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets Area if you’re an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you’re trying to analyze your path sales, Teachables has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.

For greater plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can provide your students discounts should they decide to buy another course. It is a fantastic way of increasing conversions.

In regards to student tracking, you can check student enrollment and engagement. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.

You do not need to worry about tracking student and sales insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with technology and promotion for you.

Completion Certificates

To access this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Here are a few things I do not like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5% transaction fees
  • There is a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There’s no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you attempt it?

I’m not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being the most confused about the crowd. But with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. Akin to a duck testing the waters first, It does take some time to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach the way you would like to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Machines With Google

You don’t need to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors. So all you’ve got to worry about is making the content you wish to sell.

To Sum It Up

For complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to concentrate more on course production than the business’s technology and marketing aspect, Teachable is an approachable platform.

You can create your online course on any subject you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a business. Why not start now?
