Teachable Marketing Platform

teachable-review

Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with features he envisioned his courses and students would enjoy after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

In A Nutshell Teachable Marketing Platform

Teachable allows one to create and sell online classes and training with videos, quizzes, and lectures. It has a simple and intuitive interface that makes it an outstanding platform for beginners. You don’t have to have a virtual assistant or group member to perform it because it already takes care of your sales monitoring, payment collections, and affiliates commissions. Instead, you can focus more on course construction.

Who Uses Teachable?

We can’t deny that we want to take a slice out of the ever-growing demand from the fast and booming industry of online learning.

It’s excellent for entrepreneurs, founders, and small business owners that wish to make online courses into a potentially profitable business. Individuals like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income use Teachable to sell their courses to students.

You also have enterprises like The New York Times, Shopify, and Penn Law.

As of this moment, more than 100,000 founders sold over $1 billion in courses and training for students all over the world.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Tech beginners will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you may see headers such as users, sites, sales, emails, and classes. It’s pretty straightforward. It is a lot easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive making it possible to integrate as many tools as you need. You’ll also find that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Users can select to create an appealing landing page with Teachable’s large choice of themes for your online course website. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets region if you are an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you’re attempting to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific periods.

For greater plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can provide your students discounts should they choose to buy another course. It is a fantastic means of increasing conversions.

You can check student enrollment and engagement in regards to student monitoring. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.

Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you so you don’t need to worry about monitoring sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.

Completion Certificates

To access this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, color scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing through Teachable Payments. With this, you do not need to get a 3rd party for payment processing.

You can select your payment currency from a broad range of choices. You may even generate coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will handle affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

You have the option of charging your classes as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription which your students can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Customer Support

The support is responsive. It has a comprehensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you begin creating your first course. But, if you have any additional questions, you can create a ticket. Normally, you will hear back from service within one day. Professional Teachable clients have access to live chat service.

Here are some things I don’t like about Teachable now that I’ve talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a totally free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There’s a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There’s no telephone number to contact for inquiries.

Why should you attempt it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being the most confused about the crowd. But with Teachable, I found it reasonably simple. It does take a while to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters .

You can teach how you would like to know by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Marketing Platform

You don’t need to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers. So all you have to worry about is creating the content that you want to sell.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.

You may make your online course on any topic you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a company. Why not start today?
