Teachable is the platform for you if you are an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed. He decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics that he envisioned his courses and students could like.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for about $250M.

Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As mentioned previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Going around and operating the program will be found easy by tech novices.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you may see headers like users, sites, sales, emails, and courses. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

You can integrate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is fairly extensive. You will also realize that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Teachable offers a large selection of themes for your online course site which you can select to make an attractive landing page. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

If you are an advanced user, you have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets Area.

Completion Certificates

You would need a Pro or Business Plan to access this feature. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change aspects of your certificate such as logo, color scheme, and pre-set images. Here are some things I do not like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5% transaction fees
  • There is a 5 percent transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There is no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you try it?

I’m not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being very confused about the crowd. However, with Teachable, I found it fairly simple. It does take some time to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Comparable to a duck testing the waters first.

You can teach the way you want to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Pink Pill

You don’t need to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to take care of taxes, payouts, affiliates, and authors. So all you’ve got to worry about is making the content you wish to sell.

To Sum It Up

For complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to concentrate more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect, Teachable is an approachable platform.
