If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into earnings, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed. He decided to create his online learning platform with features that he envisioned his classes and students could enjoy.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for approximately $250M.

Who Uses Teachable?

We can not deny that online learning is a fast and booming industry. And we would like to take a slice out of the ever-growing demand.

Entrepreneurs, founders, and small business owners that wish to create online courses to a potentially profitable business will find using Teachables to be very excellent. Individuals like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income use Teachable to sell their courses to students.

You also have enterprises like The New York Times, Shopify, and Penn Law.

As of this moment, more than 100,000 creators sold over $1 billion in classes and coaching for students all over the world.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Going around and operating the course will be found easy by tech novices.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the website. There you will see headers like users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

It is possible to integrate as many tools as you want as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You will also find that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Teachable offers a large choice of themes for your online course website which you can select to make an appealing landing page. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

If you are an advanced user, you have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets Area.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you are trying to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.

For greater plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles. With this, you can offer your students discounts should they choose to buy a second course. It’s a good means of increasing conversions.

You can check student registration and engagement when it comes to student monitoring. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.

Teachable deals with technology and promotion for you so you don’t need to worry about tracking student and sales insights with their comprehensive dashboards.

Completion Certificates

You would need a Pro or Business Plan to get this feature. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change elements of your certificate like logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing through Teachable Payments. With this, you do not have to get a 3rd party for payment processing.

You can select your payment money from a wide assortment of choices. You may also generate coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will handle affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

Your pupils can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You also have the option of charging your courses as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription.

Customer Support

The service is responsive. It has an extensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you begin creating your first class. But, if you have any additional queries, you can create a ticket. Usually, you’ll hear back from service within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat service.

Here are some things I don’t like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable does not have a totally free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There is a 5 percent transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There is no telephone number to contact for inquiries.

Why should you attempt it?

I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out. Akin to a duck testing the waters .

You can teach the way you want to know by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Plugin For WordPress

You don’t need to worry about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers. So all you’ve got to worry about is creating the content you wish to sell.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to concentrate more on course creation than the business’s technology and marketing aspect.

You can create your online course on any subject you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a business. Why not start today?
