If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his own online learning platform with features he envisioned his courses and students could like after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms had.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

Who Uses Teachable?

We can not deny that we would like to take a slice from the ever-growing demand from the quick and booming industry of online learning.

It’s ideal for entrepreneurs, founders, and small business owners that wish to create online courses into a potentially lucrative business. Individuals like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income use Teachable to sell their courses to students.

You also have enterprises such as The New York Times, Shopify, and Penn Law.

More than 100,000 founders sold over $1 billion in classes and coaching for students all around the world as of this moment.

Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you may see headers such as users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It is pretty straightforward. It is a lot easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you need. You’ll also find that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Users can select to make an appealing landing page with Teachable’s large selection of topics for your online course site. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

If you’re an advanced user, you have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets region.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you are attempting to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific periods.

You can provide your pupils discounts should they choose to buy another course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles from availing greater plans. It is a fantastic means of increasing conversions.

You can check student enrollment and engagement in regards to student monitoring. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.

Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you so you don’t need to worry about tracking sales and student insights with their comprehensive dashboards.

Completion Certificates

You’d need a Pro or Business Plan to access this feature. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the course. You may change elements of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its in-built payment processing through Teachable Payments. With this, you do not have to get a 3rd party for payment processing.

You may choose your payment currency from a wide assortment of choices. You may even create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will handle affiliate payouts automatically.

Teachable has options like Stripe and PayPal and advanced payment options like Visa and Mastercard.

Your students can pay by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You also have the option of charging your courses as one-time purchases, monthly payments, or as a subscription.

Customer Support

The service is responsive. It has an extensive knowledge library with online lessons and lives webinars for common questions you may ask as you start creating your first class. Butif you have any additional questions, you can create a ticket. Usually, you’ll hear back from service within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat support.

Here are a few things I don’t like about Teachable now that I’ve talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There’s no phone number to contact for queries.

Why should you attempt it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being very confused about the crowd. However, with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. Akin to a duck testing the waters first, It does take some time to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach how you would like to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Review 2021

You don’t need to think about marketing. All you have to worry about is making the content you want to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to focus more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.

Teachable helps you turn the online courses you can create on any subject you love into a business. Why not start now?
