teachable-review

Teachable is the platform for you if you are an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into income.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics that he envisioned his courses and students could enjoy after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for approximately $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As mentioned earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech beginners will find it easy to go around and operate the course.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you will see headers like users, sites, sales, emails, and classes. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you need. You will also realize that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

Users can select to make an attractive landing page with Teachable’s large choice of topics for your online course site. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the option of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets region if you’re an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

It has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you’d need while attempting to analyze your path sales. You can see how well your courses have performed in specific phases.

You can provide your students discounts should they choose to buy a second course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles from availing higher plans. It is a good way of increasing conversions.

When it comes to student tracking, you can check student registration and engagement. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.

Completion Certificates

To access this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change aspects of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. Now that I’ve talked about what I enjoyed about Teachable, here are a few things I don’t like:

  • Teachable doesn’t have a totally free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5% transaction fees
  • There’s a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There’s no phone number to contact for queries.

Why should you attempt it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being very confused about the crowd. But with Teachable, I found it fairly simple. Akin to a duck testing the waters first, It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach the way you want to know by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Sat

You don’t have to worry about marketing. All you’ve got to worry about is making the content that you want to sell since Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to focus more on course creation than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.

You can create your online course on any subject you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a company. Why not start now?
