teachable-review

Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously called Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his courses and students could enjoy after getting frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms had.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for approximately $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As mentioned earlier, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Tech beginners will find it easy to go around and operate the course.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you may see headers like users, sites, sales, emails, and classes. It’s pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive making it possible to integrate as many tools as you want. You’ll also realize that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

It has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need while attempting to analyze your path sales. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific periods.

You can provide your pupils discounts should they choose to obtain a second course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles from availing greater plans. It is a fantastic way of increasing conversions.

When it comes to student tracking, you can check student enrollment and engagement. You’ll get reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.

You do not need to worry about tracking student and sales insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with technology and promotion for you.

Completion Certificates

You’d need a Pro or Business Plan to get this feature. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the course. You may change aspects of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Here are a few things I don’t like about Teachable now that I’ve talked about what I enjoyed about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a totally free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There is a 5 percent transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There is no phone number to contact for queries.

Why should you attempt it?

I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being the most confused about the crowd. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably simple. Akin to a duck testing the waters , It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach how you would like to learn by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable School

You don’t need to think about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to look after taxes, payouts, affiliates, and authors. So all you have to worry about is making the content you wish to sell.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to focus more on course production than the business’s tech and marketing aspect.

Teachable helps you turn the online courses you may make on any topic you love into a company. Why not start now?
