If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his own online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his classes and students could like after getting frustrated over the lack of direct accessibility to students some platforms had.

In 2020, sources say that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for approximately $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As mentioned previously, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech novices will find it easy to go around and operate the course.

When you register on the site, it leads you to the dashboard. There you may see headers like users, sites, sales, emails, and courses. It’s pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

It is possible to integrate as many tools as you want as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You’ll also find that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Users can select to create an appealing landing page with Teachable’s large selection of topics for your online course website. All you have to do is upload the logos, text, images and select color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

If you’re an advanced user, you have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML to the Code Snippets Area.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

It has all the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need while trying to analyze your path sales. You can see how well your courses have performed in specific phases.

For higher plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles. With this, you can provide your students discounts should they decide to obtain another course. It’s a good means of increasing conversions.

You can check student registration and engagement when it comes to student tracking. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your classes, their completion rates, and in which the students get stuck.

You do not need to worry about monitoring student and sales insights with their comprehensive dashboards. Teachable deals with tech and marketing for you.

Completion Certificates

To get this feature, you’d need a Pro or Business Plan. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the course. You may change elements of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Payment Options

Teachable comes with its own refundable payment processing via Teachable Payments. With this, you do not need to get a 3rd party for payment processing.

You can choose your payment currency from a broad range of choices. You may also create coupons and discount codes for students and affiliate codes. Teachable will manage affiliate payouts automatically.

Now that I’ve talked about what I enjoyed about Teachable, here are some things I don’t like:

  • Teachable doesn’t have a totally free plan. But, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There’s a 5% transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There’s no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you attempt it?

I am not the most tech-savvy man out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being very confused about the bunch. However, with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. Akin to a duck testing the waters , It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach the way you want to know by using customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Take Off Drip

You don’t have to worry about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors. So all you’ve got to worry about is creating the content you wish to sell.
