If you’re an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings, Teachable is the platform for you.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a course builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with characteristics that he envisioned his courses and students would like after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for approximately $250M.

It’s ideal for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who wish to make online courses to a potentially lucrative business. Teachable is used by individuals like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income to market their courses to students.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As mentioned earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Going around and operating the program will be found easy by tech novices.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the site. There you will see headers such as users, sites, sales, emails, and classes. It is pretty straightforward. It is a lot easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

You can incorporate as many tools as you want as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You will also find that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages using their power editor.

Users can select to create an appealing landing page with Teachable’s large choice of themes for your online course site. All you’ve got to do is upload the logos, text, images and choose color schemes to fit your business’ branding.

You have the choice of inserting custom CSS or HTML into the Code Snippets Area if you’re an advanced user.

Marketing, Student Tracking Tools, and Analytics Capabilities

When you’re trying to analyze your course sales, Teachables has all of the necessary and essential sales tracking and analytics tools that you would need. You can see how well your classes have performed in specific phases.

For greater plans, you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and packages. With this, you can offer your students discounts should they decide to obtain another course. It’s a fantastic means of increasing conversions.

You can check student enrollment and engagement in regards to student monitoring. You will receive reports on how your students interact with your courses, their completion rates, and where the students get stuck.

Teachable deals with technology and marketing for you so you don’t need to worry about tracking student and sales insights with their comprehensive dashboards.

Completion Certificates

You would need a Pro or Business Plan to get this feature. The course will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and name of the program. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, color scheme, and preset pictures. But, you may also create one yourself using the block editor (rich text and Liquid/HTML blocks).

Butif you have any additional queries, you can create a ticket. Usually, you’ll hear back from support within one day. Professional Teachable customers have access to live chat service.

Here are some things I don’t like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I liked about it:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable doesn’t have a free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5 percent transaction fees
  • There is a 5 percent transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone service.
  • There is no telephone number to contact for queries.

Why should you try it?

I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being the most confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it reasonably simple. Comparable to a duck testing the waters , It does take some time to explore the web site, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach the way you would like to know by using customization tools to personalize your content. WordPress Teachable Integration

You don’t need to worry about marketing. All you have to worry about is creating the content you wish to sell since Teachable has built-in features to look after taxes, payouts, affiliates, and writers.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who want to concentrate more on course production than the business’s technology and marketing aspect.

You may make your online course on any subject you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a business. Why not start now?
