Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator looking for a way to transform knowledge into earnings.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) based by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, grew frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed. So, he decided to create his own online learning platform with characteristics he envisioned his classes and students would enjoy.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart obtained Teachable for about $250M.

Here are some of the features I liked in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a tech headache and more of being your partner-in-arms to a company.

As stated previously, Teachable prides itself on its ease of use. Going around and operating the course will be found easy by tech beginners.

The dashboard is the first thing a user would see after registering on the website. There you will see headers like users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload files, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

You can incorporate as many tools as you need as Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive. You’ll also realize that you can easily create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

You’d need a Pro or Business Plan to access this feature. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the course. You may change elements of your certificate such as logo, colour scheme, and pre-set images. Now that I’ve talked about what I liked about Teachable, here are a few things I don’t like:

  • No free plans.
  • Teachable does not have a totally free plan. However, it does offer a 14-day trial.
  • 5% transaction fees
  • There is a 5% transaction fee for people who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There is no telephone number to contact for inquiries.

Why should you try it?

I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I’ve had many a day being very confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it reasonably easy. It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out. Akin to a duck testing the waters .

You can teach how you want to know by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Remove Social Teachable

You don’t need to worry about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and authors. So all you’ve got to worry about is making the content that you wish to sell.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to focus more on course creation than the business’s technology and marketing aspect.
