teachable-review

Teachable is the platform for you if you’re an entrepreneur or content creator searching for a way to transform knowledge into income.

Teachable is a learning management system (LMS) founded by Angkur Nagpal as a side project. It was previously known as Fedora. Nagpal, a class builder himself, decided to create his online learning platform with features that he envisioned his courses and students would enjoy after getting frustrated over the lack of direct access to students some platforms needed.

In 2020, sources state that Hotsmart acquired Teachable for about $250M.

In A Nutshell Teachable Schools

Teachable allows one to make and sell online classes and coaching with videos, quizzes, and lectures. It has a simple and intuitive interface which makes it an excellent platform for complete beginners. You don’t need to have a virtual assistant or team member to perform it because it already takes care of your sales tracking, payment collections, and affiliates commissions. Alternatively, you can focus more on course construction.

Here are some of the features I enjoyed in Teachable:

Ease of Use

Teachable’s best feature is being less of a technician hassle and more of being your partner-in-arms to a business.

As stated earlier, Teachable prides itself on its simplicity of use. Tech beginners will find it easy to go around and operate the program.

When you register on the website, it leads you to the dashboard. There you will see headers such as users, websites, sales, emails, and courses. It is pretty straightforward. It is easier for the user to upload documents, review analytics, issue refunds, and communicate with students.

Customization

Teachable’s list of partners is pretty extensive making it possible to incorporate as many tools as you want. You’ll also find that it is easy to create multimedia lectures, videos, homepage, and landing pages with their power editor.

You can offer your students discounts should they decide to obtain another course when you get access to advanced sales features like one-click upsells and bundles from availing greater plans. It’s a fantastic means of increasing conversions.

Teachable deals with technology and marketing for you so you do not need to worry about tracking student and sales insights with their comprehensive dashboards.

Completion Certificates

You’d need a Pro or Business Plan to access this feature. The class will award the certificates upon completion (Admin > Courses > Course > Certificates). There are templates available. Teachable will automatically insert your school name, student’s name, and title of the course. You may change elements of your certificate like logo, color scheme, and pre-set images. Here are some things I don’t like about Teachable now that I have talked about what I enjoyed about it:

  • 5% transaction fees
  • There’s a 5 percent transaction fee for those who opt for the Basic plan.
  • No phone support.
  • There is no phone number to contact for queries.

Why should you try it?

I am not the most tech-savvy person out there. Far from it, actually. I have had many a day being very confused about the bunch. But with Teachable, I found it fairly easy. Akin to a duck testing the waters , It does take a while to explore the website, its features, and test stuff out.

You can teach how you would like to learn by utilizing customization tools to personalize your content. Teachable Schools

You don’t need to worry about marketing. Teachable has built-in features to take care of payouts, taxes, affiliates, and writers. So all you’ve got to worry about is making the content you wish to sell.

To Sum It Up

Teachable is an approachable platform for complete beginners and busy entrepreneurs who wish to concentrate more on course production than the business’s technology and marketing aspect.

You can create your online course on any subject you love, and Teachable helps you turn that into a company. Why not start now?
